Six entrepreneurs advance to the final round of the annual event that awards the most innovative solutions with funding and a pilot partnership with a Colorado safety net healthcare organization.

Denver, Colo. — October 8, 2021 — Prime Health is thrilled to announce the finalists of the 2021 Prime Health Innovation Challenge. The six finalists, representing entrepreneurial companies who are advancing health innovation in Colorado, have been competing in a 6-month program aimed at improving health equity, access, quality, and cost for underserved communities in the state. The winners will be chosen November 18th at the final pitch event (register here), where finalists will go head to head presenting their solutions to potential Colorado provider organizations and an audience of healthcare innovators and enthusiasts. The top three companies will win a pool of $150,000 in highly coveted pilot funding, provided by the Colorado Health Foundation, for a partnership with a Colorado safety net healthcare organization.

Prime Health is proud to name our 2021 Finalists:

This year marks the 8th annual Innovation Challenge identifying solutions for the most pressing issues facing Colorado’s healthcare community. The Innovation Challenge is funded by the Colorado Health Foundation and offers entrepreneurs a unique venue to test their products and gain valuable insights that will help them bring value in Colorado’s unique healthcare landscape.

“We are looking forward to watching the finalists compete in front of our esteemed judges and live audience,” said Rachel Dixon, President and Executive Director of Prime Health. “The caliber and thoughtfulness of all of the 2021 participants have been extraordinary — we cannot wait to see the impact they will have on the future and how the funding can help accelerate their companies to the next level.”

This year, Prime Health assembled a panel of nearly 100 expert judges from every facet of healthcare in Colorado to participate in the Innovation Challenge. The competition began in May 2021 with more than 30 first-round competitors. At the end of July, 17 semifinalists were announced and just this week the six companies who will advance to the final round were identified.

The three winning companies will be those who receive the most interest from provider organizations interested in piloting their solutions to impact healthcare for Coloradans.

In partnership with The Colorado Health Foundation, Prime Health has to date awarded more than $1.25 million in pilot funding, supported the development of more than 48 pilots and led the community in vetting more than 350 different health technology solutions.
